Join The Nature Conservancy and other members of the Long Island Sound River Restoration Network (RRN), including CRC, to celebrate World Fish Migration Day, a day dedicated to migratory fish and their role in our ecosystems. We will be taking over the Northwest Park Nature Center to host an afternoon that includes a river walk, a social and networking free flow period, the premiere screening of “Reconnected: Restoring the Rivers of Long Island Sound,” and a panel discussion with the experts and advocates. Event Agenda:

3 p.m. - Walk Along the Farmington River

A guided 3-mile, round-trip walk along one of our nation’s Wild and Scenic rivers where we will share insight into the past, present and future of this waterway.

4 p.m. - Social Free Flow

An outdoor networking period featuring members of the RRN and other community groups to share knowledge and inspiration for our river restoration work. We will have free meals and desserts provided by Fuego Picante food truck and Ben & Jerry’s.

6 p.m. - Film Screening and Panel Discussion

An indoor premier of “Reconnected: Restoring the Rivers of Long Island Sound,” a mini documentary featuring our work across Connecticut and New York. A panel discussion with the restoration and dam removal experts will follow. This portion of the event will be live-streamed for our remote audience.

The Long Island Sound River Restoration Network (RRN) is a group of environmental conservation organizations working to restore stream connectivity across Connecticut and New York including The Nature Conservancy, Save the Sound, Housatonic Valley Association, Farmington River Watershed Association, Trout Unlimited, Connecticut River Conservancy, American Rivers and Seatuck Environmental Association.
