Walking Rivers is a world wide initiative to show that we care about our rivers. On Saturday, May 17th 2025 people on five different continents will walk beside their rivers – in solidarity with the water and with each other.  

Connecticut River Conservancy is excited to support our local tributary, The Fort River Watershed Association to walk along the Fort River Meet at the Silvio O. Conte Accessible nature trail. Join us at 9am for approximately 4 miles of walking along several legs that follow the river on conservation and accessible public lands. At each stop, FoRWA will highlight concerns about the Fort River in those locations. Free and open to all ages. Comfortable walking shoes recommended.
